God knows me, perfectly
God knows me, perfectly! He does, doesn’t he? And not just me, you and you and you and everyone in the world. God knows you better than anyone else knows you. Better than you know yourself. So, what does that mean to you? That when you feel lost and you need to ‘find yourself’, you need to go to Him and He will show you who you are and who you created you to be.
It is so easy to get to a point where you feel you do not know yourself. We live in a world that thrives on comparison. That thrives on telling us who to be, how to be and what to be. That world is loud and because of technology it feels like you can never catch a break. Very few people can go on a technology fast, most of our jobs are technology based and we are now so used to instant and constant communication that we do not know how to be still.
When I was a child, I heard someone on tv recite psalms 139. I had never heard it so as soon as it was done, I grabbed my bible and I was in awe! It was actually right there. In the bible! All this time!
For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb.
That’s verse 13. Human conception, pregnancy and birth are miracles and mysteries for me. Every time I see a pregnant woman I see God at work.
Psalms 139 is a reminder that we are not alone, that we have never been alone. It tells us that even before we were born God knew about us and cared about us. You are not a mistake, you are loved. Going through a rough patch? You are not alone. There is nowhere you can run or hide that God won’t be there.
