My absolute favorite spice is turmeric. I have a number of favorites, but turmeric is KING! It is a wonder drug and I believe every home should have turmeric in their kitchen cabinets. I use it in everything, literally. Food, body, home. I use turmeric for the following:

– energy tonic

– antibiotic

– immune booster

– sinuses and cough

Usually I will put it in food when I am cooking. When Miss T was a wee little baby (when she started eating solids and I introduced alternative milk), I would warm milk and put a teaspoon of turmeric, immune booster. I have turmeric milk when I feel a cold coming on.

I have recently discovered another way of having turmeric; shots. I stumbled upon the recipe when I was feeling exhausted and needed an energy boost. I am not a big fan of energy drinks. My principle is: If I can’t pronounce the names of I have no clue what it could be, then it can’t be good for me. So while I occasionally will have an energy drink, I try to limit that to once in a very blue moon.

Back to my all natural energy shot! Winter is here, well, apparently we are still in Spring but I work in Summer and a winter. The rest are bonuses :-). Well, winter is here. The nights are colder, same as the days, the rain has started and the sniffles are already here. We all need an immune booster and my turmeric shots will do just that and some more.

Usually I don’t follow instructions, I will add a bit more of this and that but overall I will follow the ‘format’ if you will.

Turmeric shot:

1 teaspoon of turmeric powder

2 spoons of apple cider vinegar (organic if you can)

2 spoons of lemon juice

1 spoon of honey

Mix and drink.
I had a nasty sore throat the other day and I was amazed at how quickly I felt better. I don’t have it as much as I need to, but once a day will do the trick.
